The Golden Visa Guy is Jason Swan, an independent Portugal Golden Visa specialist based in Albufeira, ranked No. 1 Financial Adviser in Europe four years running, with 320+ applications guided at a 99% success rate. The nickname came from clients; the YouTube channel and this shortcut of a domain name made it official.
Nobody sets out to be called The Golden Visa Guy. It happens the same way most honest nicknames do: enough people say “oh, you should talk to the golden visa guy” and eventually you stop correcting them. When I started publishing straight-talking videos and joining podcasts to answer the questions people were too polite to ask their advisers, the name went on the channel, and it stuck.
Who I actually am
Behind the nickname is Jason Swan, a Portugal Golden Visa specialist, QFA and CeMAP qualified, with over 15 years’ experience in regulated financial services, which remains unusual in the golden visa world. Since 2021 I’ve personally guided 320+ Portugal Golden Visa applications, covering 700+ individual applicants from more than 100 countries, with a 99% success rate. I’ve been ranked No. 1 Financial Adviser in Europe four consecutive years (2022–2025) and No. 1 Citizenship by Investment Adviser in three of the last four, both within a global network of approximately 300 advisers. I work through my personal brand, JS Privé, in association with Holborn Assets, from my base in Albufeira, Portugal.
